Jay Froberg
Founder & Owner of ROAR
Jay Froberg is the founder and owner of ROAR, a global talent management, production and investment company headquartered in Los Angeles.
For more than a quarter century, Jay has advised exceptional talent through some of the most important decisions of their careers, helping them recognize and capitalize on opportunities and build enduring careers, businesses and wealth.
ROAR’s clients have included Academy Award, Emmy and Grammy winners, global recording artists and some of the most recognizable performers in entertainment, including Chris Hemsworth, Liam Hemsworth, Brie Larson, Jacob Elordi, Norman Reedus, Cobie Smulders, Julian McMahon, Zac Brown Band, Dead & Company, Dwight Yoakam and Paul Oakenfold.
Jay’s work has always extended beyond traditional talent management. He identifies opportunities at the intersection of talent, intellectual property, media, technology and capital, and brings together the people and resources needed to turn those opportunities into reality.
Recently, Jay helped navigate the complex stakeholder relationships behind the development of 007 First Light, the James Bond video game developed and published by IO Interactive in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios. The game sold more than 4 million copies in its first three months, making it one of 2026’s fastest-selling games.
Through ROAR, Jay has founded, funded and advised companies across technology, sports, media, hospitality, consumer products and live events. Companies identified and supported by ROAR have gone on to generate more than $1 billion in aggregate exit value. One recent example is Influential, in which ROAR was a seed investor and strategic adviser before its 2024 acquisition by Publicis Groupe in a transaction reported at approximately $500 million.
Jay’s approach combines the instincts of a talent manager, entrepreneur, investor and attorney: recognizing what makes a person extraordinary; developing a practical strategy to accomplish that person’s goals; assembling the right team to execute that strategy; and remaining closely involved until the result is achieved.
Before founding ROAR, Jay was an executive at MGM Studios. He holds a Juris Doctor and an MBA from Pepperdine University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Arizona.
At the center of Jay’s work is a simple belief: extraordinary people should not merely participate in the opportunities their talent creates; they should own and benefit from them.
